Have you ever been on a phone call before with a new prospect, team member, or affiliate, getting peppered with questions, and before you know it, you’ve been on the phone for 90 minutes? I think we’ve all been there at some point. Well, I was on a training webinar with Ray Higdon, who broke down the Teach to Teach principle he applies in his business. I’m going to give you the benefits on this method of training your team, without spending all of your time on the phone, at the expense of neglecting the work you have to get done for your own business.
One of the coolest things about the teach to teach approach to your home business is that now you really don’t have to know everything about everything. Not that you had to before, but from personal experience, I’ve felt in the past that I needed to be able to answer every question thrown my way. By pointing to some sort of mlm training, whether it was created by you or someone else, releases you from being the expert of every marketing strategy on the planet. The next advantage may be the greatest one in the teach to teach system of training your team. That would be the gift of time. Let’s face it, we all have the same 24 hours in a day. Now, it’s absolutely the right thing to do to help and serve your team. Especially the newer folks who require some one on one attention. However, as your team and business grows, it will be impossible to be on the phone with every business partner and answer every question they have personally. You’ll eventually see you business decline because you’ll end up neglecting the tasks that you must attend to to keep your business growing and thriving. Sharing a resource to give them the necessary training information will free you up from the phone, and enable you to do what needs to be done on your end.

The final service you give by employing the teach to teach method is showing other people how to train their own team as their business progresses. If, for example, I tell Tom to check out a valuable training to answer his question, I’d follow it up with, “And you should also share this with your team when they have the same question.”. This is a great way to teach duplication in your organization, and create a culture of nurturing people to become self sufficient in their business, instead of having to wait on you to provide them with answers before taking action and taking control of their own business and future.
